Lying in a field, staring at the stars

I absolutely adore this picture.  I discovered it when I was searching for images to use in my book trailer for STRONGER.  (I will post that tomorrow if I remember to...)

The picture just really spoke words to me, and it reminded me of many many months ago when my sweetheart --yes, him who was my first--asked me where I would like to go on our first date.  Sounding like a fool, I said I wanted us to find a field to lie in and then we could gaze at the stars for the night.  I've never actually done this before, so as for why I said this of everything is beyond me.  However, he did not tell me I sounded silly by saying that and now as I look at this picture I can't help but to imagine what it must be like....

I apologize for this short post, but it is late and I'm just uploading more to Cursed with Power.  I shall post an update soon.  (As in tomorrow or Saturday.)

And I made a new cover for Innocent & Young....

As well as one for After Death...

That's all for now.  Keep on writing because look it's already the 18th day of Nano.

Ooh look what Lindsey did! *gasps*

I made the cover above myself, so yes I do expect for you --all of you--to comment at this unbelievable miracle.  Do not misunderstand; I did like the old cover, but I felt there needed to be a change.

I really must return to writing.  It's so hard just to keep my eyes open at this late hour.

More of a post about STRONGER tomorrow...I hope.

OMG guess what's here?!?!? Guess what, guess what, guess what?

You better believe it. It's finally here!

I guess the picture kind of gives it away, but yes finally Innocent & Young has been published online at the Teen Inkst Magazine.

Happy?  Excited?  I am too!
And if your emotions are none that I have mentioned I'm sorry this post may not hold much interest to you.  I try to be exciting; really, I do.

All you wonderful people out there, I have the link for you to read the story on the magazine's website.  Now, a lot of people have asked me, "Is this a short story?"  Technically this is a short story, but my parents always tell me that my short stories are "long enough to be in a book".  Hey, maybe that's why I'm making Innocent & Young into a book!  Ha ha, oh well.
Either you love it or hate it, but there's really only one way to decide for certain.

Read it here.
Thanks so much to everyone who has supported me with my books and other projects.  All of you who do everyday, when you can, or just once in a while.  It means the world to me and you inspire me to continue writing.  THANK YOU once again!

I'M SO EXCITED!  Aren't you?  It's exciting; really it is, and if you're are a writer you can understand why without me having to explain.

I'll post the link when I have it.

P.S. Like my new blog signature?  Isn't it so pretty? lol

While writing....

There is a note in front of me with "finish ch 18!" written on it to remind me that I really need to finish that.  I mean, if I don't I admit it will only continue to bother me and come up in my blog posts.  Thus today I'm really pushing myself to finish that, though this post is obviously going to keep me from doing so until I end this.

While I'm writing and sitting at the computer my miniature dachshund is sitting by the computer chair.  For some reason she's been doing that a lot lately... Perhaps she likes me nearby me while she knows I'm preoccupied?
Now admit that some of you guys read this post because you saw this picture and you wondered, "What does this have to do with writing?"  Well, here's my cute dog!  She doesn't look like she's 9, does she?

Do you have a pet who stays by you while you're writing?

Before I come to an end this post I also wanted to inform you that Innocent & Young and will be published online for Teen Inkst Magazine on September 20th.  The editor apparently wants to wait until then because she doesn't want other staff writers to think that I've been doing extra-credit kind of assignment.
She had to learn to rule a kingdom that could very well fall apart.
So while I hate such a long wait, I'm grateful the story will be out there soon enough.

And it's already Friday.... Monday, August 30th I go back to school.  I don't know how much work I'll be getting in 11th grade this year, but with writing, school, training and etc I can't guarantee that I'll be able to post daily.  I might only get a chance to post now and then.  I promise I'll try to post as often as humanly possible, though.  I'll also put up a notice on my blog so you guys remember what will be keeping me ever so busy.

Maybe chapter 18 today????

I feel as if I have been saying I'll finish chapter 18 for days upon days upon days --though in truth that is not the case-- but I do assure you I mean to finish and upload it when I am able to.  I am still behind with book swaps and I'm trying to catch up with comments, PMs, and everything else in between.
Cursed with Power (book 1 of the Magicians series)Besides that, I'm just trying to make sure that I don't make chapter 18 happen all too soon.  That doesn't make sense.  Um, what I'm trying to say is that events that happen in chapter 18 are essential to the story and I have to write them the correct way.

About other projects.... I am to have the cover of New Life soon up once it is finished.  I do not know exactly will that will be, but I am hoping soon.  Curtis, who did the cover for Cursed with Power, is also making the cover for New Life so expect something great.
A new cover for Certain Fate is being made by my friend, Gabby, who also made the cover for Dark Romance.  Unfortunately I do not know when she will make the cover, since she actually draws the covers instead of using a program.  She has a life like everybody else, so when she draws the cover and scans it over to me I'll let you know and of course post about it.
Innocent & Young should eventually be in the Teen Inkst magazine one of these lovely days.... Again, something else I also do not know the date of.

New changes to the blog are HERE

I just thought I'd let you guys know that I've added in some changes to the blog.  I've put up the covers for Everblue and Innocent & Young, along with some quotes here and there.
Hope you like what I've added in and what I've gotten rid of.  I feel with how I have it now the blog has more of a writing feel to, wouldn't you agree?

Doubt chapter 18 will be up today.... I'll really try to get it up tomorrow.

Innocent & Young NEW AMAZING COVER

The new cover I mentioned for Innocent & Young is here at last.  This fantastic cover was made by BURN on IP and she deserves all the credit.
This cover I have just updated onto the short story format of the book and you will be able to see it on the book format of it as well once I actually start the book... Possibly for Nano?  Eh, I'm still considering.

Later I hope to come back and share with you a new cover for Everblue.  And yes, a new cover for New Life is also expected to be coming soon thanks to the wonderful, talented artists on IP.
How do you like the new cover???

I personally love it.  I'm also thinking of remodeling the sides of the blog a bit to make it more... I don't know centralized around writing and my projects?  We'll see about that later.  For now I have to try and write chapter 18 up while I still can.

New story covers!!!

I wanted to stop in to let you guys know that new story covers will be coming for my short story Innocent & Young and for my book The Magic of Light.
The new cover for New Life will not be up until Curtis from IP can do that; he did the new cover for Cursed with Power and thus I'd prefer he do the new cover for the sequel.

I'll be sure to show you the new covers when I have them.
And... Haven't read Cursed with Power yet?  Read more about it here and then go read the story.

News update

Book JacketSadly it does not look like I'll have chapter 13 of Cursed with Power finished this evening because I've been reviewing the whole book and I was also preparing myself for once I start working on New Life.
Book JacketOf course by doing that I did manage to get myself somewhat distracted because for a while I was debating over two different summaries for New Life.  At last, though, I was successful in deciding which one I liked best that would keep the interest of my readers.

And though this is not for sure... I think I may be writing Innocent & Young for Nanowrimo.  Again, it's not set in stone yet though, so there may still be a chance I change my mind come November.  For me it's a really big deal because as I've said I want to pick a book that I will follow and write my heart out to through the 30 days of the contest.

Innocent & Young

You know what's terrible?  What's really, really terrible?  When you think you have your mind made up and then you don't!  Those of you who are writers know exactly what I'm talking about.  And here I am really mainly talking about the factor that I had my Nano book selected and now I'm thinking of another book that maybe I should do for Nano instead.
Someone please give me an opinion?

Innocent & Young
She had to learn to rule a kingdom that could very well fall apart at any time.
Innocent & Young is the story about a young girl who has to take over the throne before she has even lived through her childhood.  Lela becomes Queen and has more problems to deal with than one should ever have to.  She's only eighteen when her father's enemies, the Klecks, come back into her life to threaten it once more and to destroy the kingdom her father spent years building.
Telling the story from how she sees it is Kym, Lela's advisor and closest friend.
Can Lela rule a kingdom that is falling apart?  Is there any hope?  Can she handle all the responsibilities and stay true to who she is or will she lose herself entirely in all of the madness?

You can read the short story that I made of this on IP here but the story is going to change entirely is I chose to do it for Nano, since you have to start Nano stories in November anyhow.  I'm interested in your thoughts, whether you read the summary and the short story or just the summary.  Remember the other book I was going to do for Nano was STRONGER.  Seeing as I cannot do both, I am in desperate need of opinions here.
I should also mention that the short story is soon to be published in the teen magazine that Forever Live the King was published in.  I'll post up the link when it's in there!
Thanks to any who give their opinion.
