Major revisions

It's been a while, so I'm going to try to catch everybody up to what's happening.

Obviously I don't need to tell you that Cursed with Power has gone through a lot.  And the changes it has gone through are greater than anything else.  Well, as you may or may not remember old English was being used in dialog and so forth throughout the book.  I am changing this.  No, I am not getting rid of it because of the complaints I hear much too often.  I know I said I was going to stay with it, but every writer has to let go of something at some point or another.  This is something so small that I have to give up, I really cannot complain.  (Of course I might because of the extra work that is added on.)

So if I cannot blog all the time it is because I have major revisions to do with Cursed with Power.  I have to change all of the language --for a third time--and while I'm doing that I have to continue on with the next chapter and etc etc.

Luckily, I planned out chapter 15-22 today, so it's safe to say I have an idea of what I'm going to be doing for the next good amount of chapters.  Maybe that means the chapters will be finished in a more timely fashion, and maybe it won't have all that much of an effect.  All the same, I thank all of you who have supported me with this difficult decision I've made.  For those of you who loved the old English and said "old english is ftw!", I truly cannot thank you enough.
As always, I will continue sharing with you progress I make with the book.

Arisen Darkness *public now*

That's right, you've read correctly.  Arisen Darkness is finally public on inkpop.  It took me forever to get the book public because of word count --I had 10k, but it came out 5 words short the first time--but at last it is here.  Despite the late hour I thought I would share with you that it has indeed released.
This means it's going on the "new release" page and being taken off the "coming soon" page.  Continue to check this pages since they are constantly being updated.

Also, eventually sometime this week I have to inform you about a rather major decision I made about something in Cursed with Power.  However, I do not know when I will find the time for that post.

Read Arisen Darkness here.  Enjoy!

A day with Arisen Darkness

The title explains it all --this is why I haven't finished chapter 14, haven't blogged earlier today, and have been losing my mind all day.  Like I told my friend, you have to be slightly insane to write.  (He doesn't believe me about that, though...)
My post about the making of STRONGER will be coming another time.  For now I must talk about Arisen Darkness because there is a fair chance it may go pubic tomorrow.  No promises, though; I can only write as much as my mind allows me to think.
A new summary will be coming up for Arisen Darkness because man has this book developed since day one.  Want to hear about it?  Too bad, I'm going to tell you about it whether you like it or no.
Originally I had two characters in this book named after two characters from another book of mine.  (Wait, did that make any sense?)  The main characters name was Daray --inspired by Daray in Guard the Sacred-- and his father's name was Malvagio --inspired by Daray's father in Guard the Sacred.  About halfway through the third chapter reality hit me.  Whoa, whoa, whoa, the characters in this book live in France.  Malvagio... That's a German word for "evil" or "dark" --I can't remember which and yes, I am too tired to look it up right now.  After reminding myself that I changed both of their names to French names.  (You're welcome.)  For some reason that is just really reassuring now.  (See, now we all can sleep after all.)
In one day I have written the first four chapters and I'm almost at 10,000.  I know I've said Certain Fate will go up, but just between you and me I think this book must come first because I've gotten addicted to it.  (Don't worry, though, Cursed with Power is still and always my main project I'm working on.)
Daray's name has changed to Leonce.  (There's an accent on the first "e" but again, am I really going to bother with copying an accent from Word?  Nope, not right now.)  He's certainly developed,  but...
I think it's safe to say Juliana has come along the furthest.  I did not know at first what her story was; I did not even understand how her and Leonce would meet.  Then, suddenly it came to me.  And I know you're wondering how it could come to me.  Well, I'll tell you how.  I was literally sitting in my room --for almost the entire day--listening to the same five songs over and over again.  (Not kidding; ask anyone who knows me.)  One song, above all hit me the most with what Juliana's main story to her life is.

The open wound she hides
She just keeps it bundled up
And never lets it show
She can't take much more of this
But she can't let it go
And that's ok, she don't want the world

All the things she says
While he's just lying there
Without someone to hear her cry
She slips off into a dream
About a place to hide
And that's ok, she don't want the world

This love she feels
Everything she's ever known
Or ever thought was real
Seems like it's been thrown away
Now how's she gonna live
It's ok, she don't want the world

Those words he never spoke
Haunt her life, the memories
Of all the times before
She tried to show him love
While he would only ask for more
But it's ok, she don't want the world

Softly in her sleep
Pictures of the life she's longing
For slowly appear
She's seen them all before
But somehow never quite this clear
She just smiles, she don't want the world

This love she feels
Everything she's ever known
Or ever thought was real
Seems like it's been thrown away
Now how's she gonna live
It's ok, she don't want the world

A brand new morning shines
As she wakes up alone again
This time to face the day
She swears there's time to make it
As she simply walks away
And it's ok, she don't want the world

The song is called "She don't want the world" by 3 doors down.  If you've never listened to it before you definitely should. It's a brilliant song with an amazing meaning behind it.
Across this lake lays a destiny to be determined.  Or perhaps just more mountains... Either way, Leonce and Juliana are coming across that lake.  Soon you will be able to read how they do just this.  You will read their stories, as they unfold them to you, and in the back of your mind you may remember the voice giving you someone to talk to.
Playground school bell rings again
Rain clouds come to play again
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
Hello I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to
Hello

If I smile and don't believe
Soon I know I'll wake from this dream
Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken
Hello I am the lie living for you so you can hide
Don't cry

Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping
Hello I'm still here
All that's left of yesterday
"Hello" by Evanescene

Hope you will read the book when it's public.  I am very excited to share the story with you.  Please remember I do not own the lyrics or the pictures in this post.

Alaire and Vinur *inspirational picture*

Just thought I would share with you briefly a picture I came across a few days ago that really kept me going with Cursed with Power.  I was staring at this picture for several minutes that day, trying to find the inspiration to keep writing.  This picture did just that because it really shows exactly how close Alaire and Vinur are.  While it may not be fully expressed in this book about their bond, it definitely will be revealed later on.

Now I must return to writing.  Alaire's fate has yet to be determined...

Before I go, think on this: Have you ever been so close to a person/animal you would tell them everything?  Who could you trust all of your secrets with?

Chapter 13...Awake

Memories are part of our lives.  They follow us, but for Celestria... Memories haunt her.  They are like ghosts...they are like falcons, swallowing her as they might a worm.  If she did not have the horrid memories of her past, perhaps she never would have become the person she did.  However, that is not the case.  The truth of the matter is everything that has occurred in her life cannot be undone.
Sometimes it is these memories alone that bring back the darkest moments of life.  Sometimes it is what you know in your mind that you fear the most in your heart.
And while she spends the entire night up there are only two thoughts on her mind:
Will Alaire live?
How did she ever get involved in all of this?

Excerpt from the chapter: “If I do not sleep I can keep myself from dreaming.  Thou cannot imagine what these dreams do to me.  They are like ghosts; they haunt me.  They are like falcons; they swoop down on me and have no mercy.”
His hand touched mine, and he asked, “Why?”
“My dreams bring back memories… Memories I do not care to remember.  Every time it gets worst and Dyanna haunts me the most.  She is dead, yet she seems to be mocking the truth I shall never know.  I will never know what happened to my Aunt Ilena, and she will never understand why I acted as I did.” I explained.  I moved my hand away from his when I finished.  There was something that did not seem right about that…

There was new material added into this chapter about Aunt Ilena.  I thought of the ideas one night and decided it needed to be added in, though now I think I may have to change the flow of chapter one.  The first scene about the dream will remain the same.  However, there is a bit that may need changing because I am hearing much too often that I'm "telling not showing" in that chapter.  Chapter 13 took me a bit of a while to finish because of the new additions I have added in and because Alaire's fate I am still attempting to determine.  As I work on chapter 14 it is difficult to say what will happen next for him.
Of course, if you haven't caught up in the story you have no idea what I am talking about.  Alaire, who is he?  Don't worry, I won't give away anything major as I continue with these updates.  This is merely for your convenience and I would never ruin a surprise for you.

Try to stay awake.  It may be all that keeps the nightmares from coming....

Coming later...

Unfortunately today is a very busy day for me.  I have loads of homework, and I have to work this evening so who knows how long I'll be caught up in this and that.
All the same, I wanted to let you know that later --not today but probably more like tomorrow or Saturday--I will be posting about how I failed Nano, and then I'll do a post about how STRONGER came about and etc. etc.  It's already at 935 in ranking.  Thanks everyone for all of the support.  It means so much to me; you already knew that of course.

However, I do promise chapter 13 will be posted public at some point or another tonight.  The new cover was made by yours truly.  I spent three days, trying out different covers.  At last I came across this one and it just worked so perfectly.  I mean, come on the butterfly goes with the scene in the beginning of the book and it's dark and mysterious and beautiful.
At 325 in ranking.  Maybe it can soon reach 200?  Maybe?  I'm willing to do anything to get to 200; I'm even crazy enough to swap with people.  (God have mercy on me....)

Now that I'm off to work on my homework I'll have to leave you with...
And in case you couldn't remember, this is a image from the music video "Bye bye bye" by Nsync.  Remember those guys?  I fell in love with them, despite my young age at the time when they were around, and yes I am listening to them right now.
Now how distracting is this going to be for me?  Ha, probably very distracting.  Oh well, off to go into the madness.
If I never return you can assume it consumed me.....but let's hope that never happens.

STRONGER now public

STRONGER
STRONGER is now public on inkpop.  It was supposed to be up for public view yesterday, but alas inkpop was against me last night and therefore I could not upload the first 10,000 words.
The first six chapters are up.  There is no real way for me to give you a preview of what to expect.  I guess the easiest would be to just start at the beginning.  I'll let you start from the first page.  This is just a look into the book, so if you want to read more you'll have to do so by going on inkpop yourself to read it.

In times of danger it seems like you have to do everything possible to stay alive… to keep those around you alive. During those moments it is difficult to realize what is most important. Do you value your life over feelings or your feelings over your life?
The answer comes to you once you realize there is a difference between pain and danger…
The King and Queen saw me as a tool when their daughter’s life was at risk. It did not matter to them what I felt for her, nor did they care that this was the woman I wanted to marry. I could have proposed to her then and there in front of them and it would not have affected them in any way. However, they took advantage of what they had discovered was occurring between her and I. They knew I could not deny her protection.
At first Jocelyn did not want to learn. She refused to, and she continued to tell me that she was afraid. It was not the dagger itself that scared her most or even the idea of killing someone. I believe what frightened her above all was change. She did not want to become someone else, and she reasoned that by learning self-defense this is exactly what would happen to her.
A sage told her she had sixteen days to live. Merely sixteen days to learn everything she could in order to stay alive. This was a lie. Before sixteen days came and passed Jocelyn’s life was threatened.
Read the book today. I hope you enjoy the book, and later on today or tomorrow I will post more about the starting of the book, forming of characters, and the changes the book went through.

Arisen Darkness *official premier*

Arisen Darkness
Passion & Affection series, book 1
Book: Romance, Science fiction/ fantasy

She was a temptress.  She was alluring and beautiful, and despite reasons I should hate her... I was in love.
Daray lives in the darkness.  He has every day of his life and he is certain this will never change.  Inside an abandoned castle he and his father, Malvagio, hide from the rest of the world.  Malvagio tells him this is because it makes them stronger.  However, Daray knows it is simply because there is more he must learn.  Whether the Dark magic kills him or no, his training must persist.
During the cold days Daray roams the empty fields and dead plains, he meets a woman.  She is attractive and smart, and he is automatically drawn toward her.  Everything about her makes him desire her more, but Malvagio has strict rules against this.  Instead he tortures his son and lets Juliana live in the castle with them.
He wants her and she seems to notice this, despite his attempts to hide his feelings.  And as his powers advance, Juliana reasons and pleads for Daray to leave.  He should not only leave the one person he's ever known to trust... but he should also walk away from his magic.  The more she tries to convince him, the more determined he becomes to go against her, love... and the rules of magic.

And now a preview of the prologue, ladies and gents...
Je suis noir.
Darkness, it swallows me
Like a bird might devour a worm.
Light, it stalks me
Like a snake may do with its prey.
Evil, it flows through me
Like the water flowing in a sea.
The wind…
It howls at me
Like a wolf howls at the moon.
Il ne reste rien dans mon coeur.

Before I come to an end with this premier and get to work on uploading 10K of STRONGER, I want to say a bit about the prologue.
The first part I have showed you is a poem.  The poem, you find out later, has significance --to more than what you might first think.  The first and last lines of the poem are in French.  Daray and his father live in France; however, since I do not take French, nor do I care to deal with translations and etc. this is probably the only pieces of French you will see in the book.  All the same, I'll save you the trouble and tell you what the two lines translate to.
Je suis noir --I am dark
Il ne reste rien dans mon coeur --Nothing remains in my heart

Hopefully this premier has gotten you caught up in the story.  I will continue to keep you up to date with the project as time passes.  In the mean while, if you are not on the mailing list please request to be now.   As soon as this book goes public there's going to be fires blazing.  Literally not kidding, but I cannot tell you any more than that.
Credit to Hannah for the stunning cover.
